How to allow clients to upload backups without valid signature?

Applicable to:

  • Plesk for Linux

Question

How to allow clients to upload backups without valid signature? Why does the option "upload backup files without a valid signature' is not available for clients?

Answer

The option "upload backup files without a valid signature' is not available for clients due to security reasons. It can be selected only if you trust the backup source because uploading such a file may compromise security or disrupt the operation of the server. This is described on the following documentation page:
https://docs.plesk.com/en-US/onyx/administrator-guide/backing-up-and-restoration/uploading-backup-files-to-server.59260/

If it is still needed to allow clients to restore backups with invalid signatures, connect to the server via SSH and add the following option to /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/panel.ini :

[pmm]
allowRestoreModifiedDumps = on

Additional information

Unable to restore backup: The backup file either contains modified or corrupted data
