Kaspersky antivirus license notification: license key mailboxes limit is exceeded

Applicable to:

  • Plesk Onyx for Windows

Symptoms

Kaspersky antivirus license for unlimited mailboxes is installed.

1. Event viewer shows the following error:

The Kaspersky Anti-Virus license key mailboxes limit is exceeded Execute file name: C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Plesk\kav\kavsvc.exe

2. The same error is sent to Plesk administrator's mailbox.

3. Kaspersky antivirus stops blocking infected emails.

Cause

This is Plesk bug #PPPM-5620 which will be fixed in one of the future product updates.

Resolution

As a workaround:

  1. Download an archive from the attachment.
  2. Unarchive and replace it with C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Plesk\kav\kavsvc.exe file.
  3. Restart Kaspersky Antivirus service in Plesk > Tools & Settings > Services Management .
