Symptoms

Unable to enable ModSecurity ruleset:

AH00526: Syntax error on line 36 of /etc/apache2/modsecurity.d/rules/tortix/modsec/50_plesk_basic_asl_rules.conf:
ModSecurity: Found another rule with the same id
There is a problem with the apache config:
[so:warn] [pid 58203] AH01574: module security2_module is already loaded, skipping;
[so:warn] [pid58203] AH01574: module unique_id_module is already loaded, skipping;
AH00526: Syntax error on line 36 of /etc/apache2/modsecurity.d/rules/tortix/modsec/50_plesk_basic_asl_rules.conf:;
ModSecurity: Found another rule with the same id;
Action '-t' failed.;
The Apache error log may have more information.
c_modsec::apply_rules Rolling back to the previous update

There are 2 directories with tortix rules:

# ls -ld /etc/apache2/modsecurity.d/rules/tortix*
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Jan 5 12:40 /etc/apache2/modsecurity.d/rules/tortix
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Jan 5 09:58 /etc/apache2/modsecurity.d/rules/tortix.new

Cause

Duplicate rules enabled

Resolution

Reinstall ModSecurity according to instructions here.
