How to upgrade OS vendor PHP up to version 7.0 on CentOS 7?
Warning: Plesk officially supports only packages that are shipped with it and packages from official system repositories. That actions are not recommended. Do it at your own risk.
Such PHP upgrade is a purely administrative task. However, our team can handle it, for that, please contact Plesk Professional Services team.
If the system does not have newer versions of PHP packages in official repositories - it should be compiled manually or installed from 3rd-party repositories. Below the instruction how to upgrade PHP using 3rd-party repository:
- Connect to the server using SSH.
- Download Remi and EPEL repository packages:
# wget https://rpms.remirepo.net/enterprise/remi-release-7.rpm
# wget https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/epel-release-latest-7.noarch.rpm
- Install previously downloaded packages and enable Remi PHP 7 repo:
# rpm -ivh remi-release-7.rpm epel-release-latest-7.noarch.rpm
- Make sure that
yum-utilspackage is installed and enable Remi repository:
# yum-config-manager --enable remi-php70
- Update system packages:
# yum update
