- Plesk Onyx
How to migrate WordPress from old Plesk server (or even from servers that do not have Plesk installed) to a new one without having WordPress login and password?
There are several ways of achieving this.
It is possible to transfer a WordPress instance using Domains > example.com > Website Importing option.
It will be required to specify a domain name with WordPress instance and FTP username and password. It If there are no FTP users for this domain on a source server, create a new FTP user in Domains > example.com > FTP Access and specify this user on a destination server.
Detailed information is available at the following link:
Another option is to use Plesk Migrator tool in order to migrate the whole domain from one server to another. This will transfer all the content and environment of the WordPress along with all the other subscription data.
Please refer to our Migration Guide for additional information:
Also, it is possible to create a backup in Domains > example.com > Backup manager, create a domain with the same name on a new server, upload the backup (with selected "Upload backup files without a valid signature" option) and restore it. In this case there is a probability that passwords will be different on a new server but all the content will be transferred.
