Unable to setup a custom configuration file for AWStats on a domain: it gets removed every day by the daily task

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux

Symptoms

Unable to make custom changes to AWStats settings for a domain in "%plesk_dir%"\Additional\AWStats\wwwroot\cgi-bin\awstats.example.com.conf and "%plesk_vhosts%"\example.com\.plesk\statistics\example.com\webstat\AWStats\cgi-bin\awstats.example.com.conf files: Plesk keeps overwriting them every day during daily maintenance task

Cause

This functionality is not supported in Plesk at the moment. You may want to suggest new functionality in Plesk on Plesk User Voice portal:

Resolution

As a workaround, setup server-wide customization for AWStats:

The only customization that can be made is file %plesk_dir%\Additional\AWStats\wwwroot\cgi-bin\awstats.model.conf . Any option that is not included in the list of default options below can be modified in this file and will be then saved to %plesk_dir%\Additional\AWStats\wwwroot\cgi-bin\awstats.example.com.conf and then to VHOSTS_D\example.com\.plesk\statistics\example.com\webstat\AWStats\cgi-bin\awstats.example.com.conf

NOTE: Changes in %plesk_dir%\Additional\AWStats\wwwroot\cgi-bin\awstats.model.conf file will be applicable for all domains on a server.

Additional information

Default options are:

LogType, LogFormat, SiteDomain, HostAliases, DNSLookup, DirData, DirCgi, DirIcons, SaveDatabaseFilesWithPermissionsForEveryone, DefaultFile, LogFile, HTMLEndSection, LevelForRobotsDetection
