Unable to change a subscriber: subscription requires more resources than can be provided by the new owner's provider

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux
  • Plesk Onyx for Linux
  • Plesk 12.0 for Windows
  • Plesk 12.0 for Linux
  • Plesk 12.5 for Windows

Symptoms

1. Unable to change a subscriber in Plesk:

Warning: This subscription requires more resources than can be provided by the new owner's provider.
Unable to continue subscription transfer: this subscription requires more resources than can be provided by the new owner's provider.

2. Plesk administrator may receive e-mail messages with the following content:

CONFIG_TEXT: Mobile Sites: 01 used / 0

3. Some subscription has UNITY Mobile feature enabled:

# plesk db
[psa]> select * from dom_param where param like "%unity%";
+---------+---------------------------------+----------------------+
| dom_id  | param                           | val                  |
+---------+---------------------------------+----------------------+
| 50      | unity_mobile_site_dns_target    | example.com          |
| 50      | unity_mobile_site_key           | m.example.com        |
| 50      | unity_mobile_site_prefix        | m                    |
+---------+--------------------------------+-----------------------+
3 rows in set (0.00 sec)

Cause

License limitations that lead to the mismatch of resources. The UNITY Mobile service was activated for some domains in the past, but Unity went out of business , and Plesk disabled Unity Mobile add-on on Plesk Power Pack. Thus, currently used license does not support orphan records in psa database for unity_mobile feature.

Resolution

Update database:

  1. Create psa database backup as described in #213904125 and access Plesk database as described in #213928465

  2. Execute the following command in MySQL to remove invalid entries:

[psa]> DELETE FROM dom_param WHERE PARAM LIKE "%unity%"
