Domain is accessible despite the fact that it is suspended in Plesk

Applicable to:

  • Plesk for Linux

Symptoms

Domain example.com is accessible despite the fact that it is suspended in Plesk.

There is a web server configuration file for another domain that has settings for example.com , e.g.:

# apache2ctl -S | grep example.com
AH00548: NameVirtualHost has no effect and will be removed in the next release /etc/apache2/plesk.conf.d/server.conf:6
     port 7081 namevhost example.com (/etc/apache2/plesk.conf.d/vhosts/anotherdomain.com.conf:10)
             alias www.example.com
             alias ipv4.example.com
     port 7080 namevhost example.com (/etc/apache2/plesk.conf.d/vhosts/anotherdomain.com.conf:128)
             alias www.example.com
             alias ipv4.example.com

There is no anotherdomain.com in Plesk

Cause

There is a probability that anotherdomain.com was renamed to example.com earlier,  however configuration files for old domain name has not been removed completely.

Resolution

  1. Remove leftover config

    # mv /etc/apache2/plesk.conf.d/vhosts/anotherdomain.com.conf /root

  2. Rebuild web server configuration files for example.com

    # /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/httpdmng --reconfigure-domain example.com
