Receiving mails about Plesk update

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux

Symptoms

After Plesk Onyx official release, a server running Plesk 12.5 starts to send everyday emails like as the following one:

Subject: The Panel was successfully updated at SERVER.EXAMPLE.COM

From: root@SERVER.EXAMPLE.COM
To: MAIL@EXAMPLE.COM
Content:
Plesk Installer 3.18.12 (built on 2016-10-05 12:12 svn rev. 349575) started at (timezone CET) Fri Nov 25 03:15:33 2016
Command line arguments: /var/cache/parallels_installer/parallels_installer_CentOS_7_x86_64_3.18.12 --select-product-id plesk --select-release-latest --upgrade-installed-components --notify-email MAIL@EXAMPLE.COM --branch stable

In psa.misc table in Plesk database, parameter autoupgrade_to_stable set as true:

# MYSQL_PWD=`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` mysql -u admin -Dpsa -e "select * from psa.misc where param='autoupgrade_to_stable'"

+-----------------------+------+
| param | val |
+-----------------------+------+
| autoupgrade_to_stable | true |
+-----------------------+------+

Cause

Parameter autoupgrade_to_stable set as true and it triggers Plesk upgrade to stable version.

Resolution

Disable such parameter as follows:

# /usr/local/psa/bin/server_pref --update -autoupgrade-stable false
