Backup to remote FTP server filling /tmp folder

Note: This article has the reference to the issue with the fix available:

  • #PPPM-5405 "Plesk failed to remove temporary extension files created during backup from the “DUMP_TMP_D” folder."

Symptoms

Plesk keeps temporary backup files in /tmp folder after the backup is uploaded to a remote FTP server whereas all files should be removed automatically.

Note: path to temporary backup files depends on the DUMP_TMP_D value which can be defined in /etc/psa/psa.conf file.

Cause

This is Plesk bug with ID #PPPM-5405 which is planned to be fixed in future Plesk updates.

Resolution

  1. Download the attached file:

    # wget https://plesk.zendesk.com/hc/article_attachments/115000370569/Packer.tar.gz
  2. Unpack it:

    # tar -xzvf Packer.tar.gz
  3. Replace /usr/local/psa/PMM/agents/PleskX/Packer.pm with the downloaded file:

    # cp -p Packer.pm /usr/local/psa/PMM/agents/PleskX/Packer.pm
  4. Rerun backup to a remote FTP server.
