Domains got suspended after backup: unable to activate the domain: Either the domain owner or their subscription is suspended

Applicable to:

  • Plesk for Linux
  • Plesk Onyx for Linux

Symptoms

Domains get suspended after a scheduled backup process interruption.

Directive Suspend domains until the backup task is completed is enabled in Tools & Settings > Backup Manager > Schedule > Suspend domains until the backup task is completed .

After interruption it is not possible to enable domains from Plesk administration panel. The following error appears:

Error: Some of the selected domains or aliases were not activated.
Unable to activate the domain: Either the domain owner or their subscription is suspended.

Cause

This issue is caused by the product bug PPPM-6472 which will be fixed in future updates.

Resolution

As a workaround:

1. Enable domain from a command line:

# plesk bin site --on example.com

2. Disable Suspend domains until the backup task is completed directive.
