Unable to upload files in WordPress:
PLESK_ERROR: The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/upload
Not sufficient permissions for an application pool user: modify permission is missing
To grant Modify/Write permissions website-wide to the domain user:
- Log into Plesk.
- Go to Plesk > Domains > example.com > Hosting Settings > Mark the option Additional write/modify permissions
To grant Modify/Write permissions only to the uploads folder:
Go to Plesk > Domains > example.com > File Manager >wp-content;
Click on the menu for the folder `upload` and select Change Permissions;
Select the Application pool group (IWPG_example) and add the Modify permissions;
- Click Ok.
- Connect to the server using RDP
- Find the application pool user: IIS > servername > Application Pools > find user listed for example.com in Identity field:
- Change permissions for C:\Inetpub\vhosts\example.com\httpdocs\wp-content\uploads folder so that application pool user for the site has modify permissions:
