How to configure Horde to authenticate on external server?
The requested functionality was not tested with Plesk and it is not supported officially. However, you can configure Horde to work with external mail server on your own risk:
Make a backup of
Replace 'localhost' in $conf['mailer']['params']['host'] parameter with external server name or IP address:
$conf['mailer']['params']['host'] = 'external_server_name_or_IP';
$conf['mailer']['params']['port'] = 25;
$conf['mailer']['type'] = 'smtp';
Change the 'hostspec' parameter to desired external server name or IP address under // IMAP server section:
// IMAP server
$servers['imap'] = array(
// ENABLED by default; will connect to IMAP port on local server
'disabled' => false,
'name' => 'IMAP Server',
'hostspec' => 'external_server_name_or_IP ',
'hordeauth' => false,
'protocol' => 'imap',
'port' => 143,
Please keep in mind that installation of Plesk micro-updates may override the changes.
Note : This configuration is server wide and will be applied for all domains that use Horde on your server.
