How could I change the server host name for Parallels Plesk Panel integrated with Customer & Business Manager?

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 11.x for Linux
  • Plesk 10.x for Linux
  • Plesk 11.x for Windows
  • Plesk 10.x for Windows

Resolution

If Parallels Plesk Panel (PP) is integrated with Customer & Business Manager (CBM) , use this article to change the server host name.

The following two configurations are possible:
•    Parallels Plesk Panel is connected to the remote Customer & Business Manager
•    Parallels Plesk Panel is connected to the local Customer & Business Manager

Remote CBM configuration

For the remote Customer & Business Manager configuration, perform these steps:
1.    Renew the Parallels Plesk Panel host name in a Single Sign-on (SSO) using instructions in this article.
6030 Logout URL in Parallels Plesk Billing does not match new hostname
2.    Change the server host name for corresponding Parallels Plesk Panel in the Customer & Business Manager:
Open System configuration -> Server groups, find corresponding server group and server inside it. Click Edit for server and change its hostname.

Local CBM configuration

For the local Customer & Business Manager configuration depending on your PP version follow the steps below:

For PP 10.4 and newer:
Changing hostname in PP would automatically be synced with CBM for local configurations.

For PP 10.3 and older:
Run utility update-hostname to update the host name in the Parallels Plesk Panel, Customer & Business Manager, and SSO.
Note: The reconfiguration is also performed for all remote Parallels Plesk Panel servers. On success, all the applications within the SSO realm will work with the new host name correctly.
•    For Linux, run:
# /usr/share/plesk-billing/update-hostname --new-hostname=<new_hostname> [--old-hostname=<old_hostname>]
•    For Windows, run:
> "%plesk_bin%\php.exe" -dauto_prepend_file="" "%plesk_dir%\billing\scripts\update-hostname.php" --new-hostname=<new_hostname> [--old-hostname=<old_hostname>]

Parameter old-hostname is not mandatory.
