My clients were disconnected from FTP by timeout. How do I change the FTP session times?

Applicable to:

  • Plesk for Linux/Unix

Resolution

You can configure different timeouts in the main ProFTPd configuration file. When logged in to the shell as a root, open the $FTPD_CONF/proftpd.conf file and sets the times you need in the server config or <Global> area, for example:

TimeoutNoTransfer             900
TimeoutStalled                     600
TimeoutIdle                         1200

A detailed description of these directives and many others can be found at http://proftpd.org/docs/directives/linked/by-name.html .
