Health Monitor produces high CPU load on Windows 2008

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Windows

Symptoms

When the Health Monitor is enabled in Parallels Plesk Panel installed on Windows 2008, the process manager shows a high CPU load. The process WmiPrvSE.exe is always on top of CPU consumption.

Cause

The problem is related with the WMI implementation in Windows 2008.

Resolution

Turn off the Health Monitor in Parallels Plesk Panel:Disable two services related to the Health Monitor (Parallels System Health Notifier and Parallels System Health Monitor) in Tools & Utilities > Services management and reboot server.
