Unable to access Plesk: Internal server error - Unable to connect to pipe

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Windows

Symptoms

Plesk is not accessible:

Internal server error ERROR: Exception: Unable to get administrator password: The system cannot find the file specified. (Error code 2) at Unable to connect to pipe

In Windows Event Viewer the following error appears in Plesk section:

Unhandled exception
E06D7363
Execute file name: C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Parallels\\Plesk\\admin\\bin\\plesksrv.exe

Cause

Plesk Management Service is corrupted

Resolution

Replace admin\\bin and admin\\bin64 folders content with the content taken from the test server. If it is not possible to replace some files as they are already used by another process, stop all Plesk related services, including TrayMonitor. Contact Plesk technical support in order to achieve this.
