Apache does not listen to 443 port, sites are not accessible over https

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux

Symptoms

Apache does not listen to 443 port:

# netstat -tunap | grep httpd
tcp6 0 0 :::80 :::* LISTEN 10825/httpd

As a result, domains are not accessible over https.

Reconfiguring server does not help:

# /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/httpdmng --reconfigure-server

There is the following entry found in history:

# history | grep ssl.conf
313 mv ssl.conf ssl.conf_

Cause

/etc/httpd/conf.d/ssl.conf file is missing:

Resolution

Move ssl.conf file back:

# mv /etc/httpd/conf.d/ssl.conf_ /etc/httpd/conf.d/ssl.conf

Reload apache:

# service httpd reload
