Webmail does not work: 404 - File or directory not found

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Windows

Symptoms

  • Horde webmail shows the following error:

    404 - File or directory not found.
    The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
  • MailEnable webmail shows the following error:

    Server Error in '/' Application.
    The resource cannot be found.
    Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.
    Requested URL: /default.aspx

Cause

PHP Manager is installed in IIS:

Resolution

  1. Disable/remove PHP Manager.

  2. In IIS: Remove webmail(horde) and its application pool.

  3. Recreate Horde PHP handlers:

    In Plesk: go to Tools & Settings > Webmail

    • select Horde and click Disable .

    • select Horde again and click Enable .

  4. Make sure that there is no PHP folder in C:\\Program Files (x86) directory.
