PHP 7 is shown as disabled in Plesk GUI but it is enabled on a server

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux

Symptoms

PHP 7 is shown as disabled in Plesk GUI but it is enabled on a server. Unable to enable PHP 7.0.13 by OS vendor (default) Apache module in Tools and Settings > PHP Settings : it is shown as switched off:

It has the red exclamation mark and the following notification:

handler cannot be enabled because the corresponding Apache module is turned off

Handler is enabled on a server and domains that run on PHP 7 are accessible:

# plesk bin php_handler --list
module 7.0.13 by OS vendor ( default ) /usr/bin/php-cgi /usr/bin/php /etc/php.ini false enabled

Cause

This is an internal issue with ID #PPP-27072 , which is planned to be fixed in future product updates.

There is no workaround available at the moment
