Symptoms

Migration Manager truncates user names during migration. For example, after the migration the system user (FTP user) name with 16 characters long gets shortened by one character.

Cause

This is Plesk internal issue with ID #PMT-3320 which is planned to be fixed in future Plesk updates.

Resolution

Apply one of the following temporary workarounds:

  1. Apply custom fix:

    # cd /usr/local/psa/
    # wget http://autoinstall.plesk.com/panel-migrator/patches/PMT-3320
    # patch -p0 < PMT-3320
  2. Change the user name manually in Plesk under Subscriptions > example.com > Hosting (section on the right panel) > Change Hosting Settings .
